Grants awarded September 28th
We saw during the Stay at Home Order that many of our community businesses had little to no online presence. With the uncertainty of these times and the nature of our world in converting to web-based everything we hope these efforts will help our businesses now and into the future.
The first grant we received is the COVID-19 Response and Recovery Fund award from Innovia Foundation. The funds we received are designated for an online platform called the Mercantile through the webhosting platform, Locable. The Mercantile will act as an online market for any downtown business to sell products and/or gift cards. The Mercantile will be hosted on the Colville Together website, colvilletogether.org.
Locable, simultaneously, was providing a Community Grant Program for their state-of-the-art Community Launch program which is designed for Chambers of Commerce, Main Street Organizations, and other community organizations. It is a powerful platform “focused on community, … to help attract visitors and equip your merchants to put their best foot forward.” Colville Together applied for this grant and we were one of the nine winners across the country.
Because we receive both grants, we will be able to provide a grant of our own. We have funds set aside for three downtown businesses to launch their own website, which they can utilize for years into the future. If you are a downtown business that would like a website, please see our application form above. Businesses will be responsible for the $30 per month hosting fee.
The goal of the whole endeavor for Colville Together was to provide our downtown businesses with resiliency in this exceedingly difficult time.
